Dear McKelvie Families~

Sept. 12th Grade 6 Open House 6-7 for Parents.

Open Houses:
Our Open Houses are for parents only. Traffic and parking are often an issue, so please plan for a little extra driving /parking time. Grade 5 Open House is Sept. 11th and Grade 6 Open House is Sept. 12th. Both begin at 6:00pm.

Please click HERE to see club offerings. Registration for both will open next Friday, September 13th at 7:00pm.

Strings Club:
The Bedford School District has partnered with the Manchester Community Music School in order to offer strings lessons K-8. Please click HERE to see a flyer about the program if your child is interested in playing a stringed instrument. The program is run by MCMS but lessons are at McKelvie and the strings club will be incorporated into our school concerts.

Library News:
Susan Cavanaugh, our Digital Learning Specialist, and I just finished Chromebook Overview lessons for all students! Please make sure that you help your child be a great digital citizen when they are using their school Google account at home. Parents and students should have reviewed and returned the McKelvie Student Chromebook Contract that was sent home. This document outlines all of the student expectations/safety guidelines for using their Chromebooks and school Google accounts. Please click HERE if you need to review this important document.

Please click HERE to see an Adobe Spark of three different students who located Golden Tickets found hidden inside McKelvie Library books! Congrats to Brendan, Kaelyn and Faith! You will also see an image of several September 3rd new releases. It is wonderful when students find sequels, companions and new publications from authors they love.

As part of the 1:1 Chromebook program, students were asked to bring in a pair of inexpensive headphones/earbuds to leave at school. We want to remind parents that there is an option for students to purchase a pair of inexpensive earbuds (similar in quality to what you would purchase on a plane) from the library for $1.

Have a restful weekend! Next week will be our first five day week of the school year! ~Mrs. Cote
