6.22.18

Dear McKelvie Families ~

It has been two days since the students have departed and the building is quiet. However, the number of maintenance projects going on will be in full swing starting next week. As a result, there will be a different kind of busy for us!

I would like to end the year with a Ted Talk that I sent out at the start of the year. I wonder if your child has moved along this continuum as a result of their year of learning? Click HERE for this 6 minute video. It’s a good watch, regardless.

Lost & Found
Items have been bagged and are ready to be donated on Friday, June 29th. If you would like to search for an item, the bags will be available next week Monday-Thursday outside the Main Office.

Grade 6 Chromebook Purchase - 32 students left!
Click HERE for the steps that need to be taken for your child to access a Chromebook for 7th grade. From personal experience, this is a great deal and VERY easy!

From the Library
Help your child(ren) prevent the "summer slide" by visiting the McKelvie Library homepage! Click HERE to visit the "Summer Reading" tab. You will find OPTIONAL summer reading opportunities, a link to the Bedford Public Library catalog, helpful reading websites, as well as an informative "summer slide" infographic from Scholastic. Remember summer reading is reading for FUN. Enjoy!

Congratulations to our 10th "Search Slip" winner of the 2017-2018 school year! Shannen Holohan from Mrs. Thornton's class had her slip drawn on Monday afternoon. All of the "Search Slips" from June were collected and hers was drawn. Shannen received a $5.00 gift certificate for a cool, sweet treat!

Thank you to all of the first McKelvie Summer Book Swap participants! There were numerous participants that donated books to the swap and as a result were able to choose 1-2 books. These students are able to get a jump start on summer reading! Congratulations to Theodore Burdick! His ticket was drawn from all of the summer book swap tickets that were issued when books were donated.

Click HERE to see Shannen and Theodore on the last day of 6th grade with their prizes from the library!
