Dear McKelvie Families ~

On Thursday morning, the students participated in our annual Memorial Day Assembly.  There were patriotic songs, original poems by student authors, and two guest speakers.  The students learned why we celebrate Memorial Day and the meaning of Taps.  I must tell you that your kids were OUTSTANDING.  They were respectful, thoughtful, and made a wonderful impression on our guests.  I hope that you enjoy this wonderful Memorial Day Weekend.

Dear McKelvie Families ~

This week has been a whirlwind of activity at McKelvie and all around the district.  This is the time of year I find it a challenge to keep up with everything!  Between our Spring Concert, Band Info Night, Visiting Author Lynda Hunt, and Grandparent's Day, there was certainly a lot to do!  As a result of increased activity and expectations, it's typical for kids to be excited and anxiety to increase.  Know that we are aware of this and are working hard to maintain a calm, consistent, and normal (as can be expected) routine for the school.  With June 15th being our last day, it will be here before we know it!

World Language Poster Contest
Chelsea Ongioco, a 5th grader at McKelvie School has won the state poster contest sponsored by the New Hampshire Association of World Language Teachers. She competed against 4th, 5th, and 6th graders throughout the state of New Hampshire and won $50.00. Congratulations to Chelsea! Please see the photo of Chelsea with her award winning poster.

Dear McKelvie Families ~

The energy at McKelvie was palpable today!  The kids are SO excited about our Faculty Basketball game at BHS at 6:30pm tonight.  This year I have thrown caution to the wind and decided to display my lack of athleticism for all to see.  Despite my rigorous Crossfit routine (I'm smirking as I write this), basketball is far from my wheelhouse.  So - if you need a boost in self esteem, come by and watch us play.  You will consider yourself Olympic material after just a few minutes!
