Dear McKelvie Families ~

This is the last Friday of the academic year and I am in awe at how much your children have grown. This is not just true academically, but physically as well. It is a privilege to watch them grow day in and day out. Just a reminder that next week is a short three days. For future planning, click HERE for the 2018/19 calendar.

Reading Street Books - A Momento
As you may know, McKelvie will be implementing two new Reading Programs next year. In keeping with School Board Policy DN, we are in the process of re-homing our current reading materials. If your child (or neighbor) would like to keep a copy of their Reading Street textbook, please contact your child’s teacher. We will send them home.

From the Library
ALL McKelvie Library materials were due on Wednesday, June 13th! Please have your child log into his/her Destiny library account to make sure all items are turned in. Your help with this is appreciated!

Help your child(ren) prevent the "summer slide" by visiting the McKelvie Library homepage! Click HERE to visit the "Summer Reading" tab. You will find OPTIONAL summer reading opportunities, a link to the Bedford Public Library catalog, helpful reading websites, as well as an informative "summer slide" infographic from Scholastic. Remember summer reading is reading for FUN. Enjoy!

If your child brought in a book or books for the McKelvie Summer Book Swap, please remind him/her to come to the library with this issued ticket(s) on Monday or Tuesday of next week! There are some great books to select from. Thank you to all of the participants. This swap has helped to keep bookshelves at home current!

Destination Imagination Says Thank You!
Bedford DI would like to thank everyone for their support during their recent fundraising efforts to help cover the cost of getting 8 teams to Global Final in Knoxville, TN. The blue bag shoe drive is over, but you may continue to drop your shoes and clothing donations in the Ecosmith bins, in any school parking lot, 356 days a year.
