Dear McKelvie Families ~

Today was Grandparent’s Day and it was FANTASTIC! It was such a pleasure to watch so many grandparents attend this event. The school was abuzz with excitement as the students were able to introduce and show off their families to teachers and friends. A BIG thank you to everyone who helped.

NO SCHOOL
Just a reminder that there is NO SCHOOL on Friday, May 25th (Teacher Workshop Day) and NO SCHOOL on Monday, May 28th in observance of Memorial Day. And - the LAST day of school is Wednesday, June 20th.

Student Council Spirit Day - Date Change
Beach Day has been changed from Thursday, May 24th to Wednesday, May 23rd.

Faculty Basketball Game
The Community Action Team would like to THANK McKelvie Staff and Teachers for donating their time and sweet basketball skills to this year's McKelvie Staff Basketball Game. Through the support of McKelvie Staff, Teachers and Families we were able to raise $2,204.00 from this event. We are pleased to donate these funds to CHaD through a donation to the 6 Bedford High School football players that have been selected to play in the CHaD East-West All-Star Football Game.

It was wonderful to see the special Grandparents/Friends visiting our school today! The library was a busy place, as these important people came to see our space and how it is different from the school libraries that they attended!

The Great Stone Face Award winner has been announced! During National Library Week (April 9th-13th) students at McKelvie Intermediate School, along with others in grades 4-6 across the state, participated in this vote! The statewide winner was announced yesterday! The winner of the 2018 Great Stone Face Award is... Ghosts by Raina Telgemeier. This is the 3rd year in a row that a graphic novel has been selected by the students of NH. This book received 1,304 votes out of the 5,937 votes cast by 4th-6th graders. Be sure to check this title out!

COFFEE WITH SUPERINTENDENT CHIP MCGEE- Join the Bedford PTG for a “Year in Review” with Superintendent McGee onWednesday, 5/30 starting at 9:30am at BCTV (10 Meetinghouse Rd – behind the Town Hall). This is a great opportunity to ask any questions you have about the Bedford School District. Children always welcome to attend.

BHS GRADUATION SEAT RAFFLE!!!The PTG is raffling off FOUR sets of four seats in the front two center rows of the bleachers. These seats will be reserved just for you. Winners will also receive one reserved parking space on campus! $20/Entry or 6 Entries for $100 Winners will be drawn & announced on June 11th. Simply fill out the number of entries you'd like to make and return with cash or check payable to “Bedford PTG” to BHS school office by JUNE 8th.

BHS PARKING SPACE RAFFLE!!! $10 Donation Per Entry The PTG is raffling off TWO prime guaranteed parking spaces in the top lot for the 2018-2019 school year. You must have a valid license and a vehicle sometime during the 2018-2019 school year to be eligible to WIN! Simply fill out the number of entries you'd like to make and return with cash or check payable to “Bedford PTG” to BHS school office by June 13th. Winners will be notified before the end of the year.

Now Accepting Bedford School District “HALL of FAME” Nominations
The Bedford School District has been recognized as one of the most exceptional school districts in the state. This recognition and distinction would not be possible without the many citizens, educators, students and volunteers that over the years have built, maintained and enhanced the mission and the values of our school district. We invite you to nominate individuals who exemplify the spirit of our district along with those who have gone above and beyond in making Bedford an extraordinary school district in all aspects. Chromebook Raffle
The BEF will be raffling off 2 Chrome books at 6th to 7th Grade Info Night. Raffle tickets will be sold at 6th to 7th Grade Info Night on May 24, 2018 and raffle winners will be selected during the evening program. Raffle tickets are $25/each or 5 tickets for $100. Destination Imagination - Shoes, Bags & Belt Drive Thru End of May
Bedford DI are having a special drive through Ecosmith Recyclers. From now until May 30th, you can donate all your old shoes, bags and belts (any condition) in the marked boxes in our school lobby. These items must be placed in a special blue bag, but we can do that for you. This is a great way to get your spring cleaning under way, while helping raise funds for the teams heading to Global Finals in Knoxville, TN. Reminder, clothing, fabrics, stuffed animals etc can always be donated in the bin in the parking lot. We appreciate your support. For more info, contact bedfordrocksdi@gmail.com
