Dear McKelvie Families ~

There are exactly 19 days left of school!  This year has simply flown by and I am amazed at how quickly it passed.  There are numerous  activities and events between now and the end of the year. I will continue to keep you informed about each of them.  It continues to be a pleasure to watch the extraordinary growth of your kids - they are terrific!  Below are the notes for this week:

Information

Spring Concert Tonight!
Join us at the BHS Theater tonight for our Spring Concert.  The chorus starts at 6:30pm and the band begins at 7:30pm.  Admission is free.

BeBOLD Speaker Series
A reminder that on Monday, May 22nd from 7pm to 8pm are three Bedford MD’s to talk about NH’s drug and alcohol crisis.  Click HERE for the details.

Grandparents’ Day
Wow! If you came by McKelvie this morning, you saw that we had a FULL house of grandparents.  It was an amazing morning sponsored by both the school and the Bedford PTG. A BIG thank you to Denise Roy, Becky Coughlin for their efforts.  Also - I would like to recognize the following parents for volunteering/donating for this event: Kara Tynan, Jennifer Williams, Amanda Underwood, Donna Braga, Elise Johnson, Alyssa O’Neil, Joya Shaheen, Barbara Hardy, Kristin Koziol, Janine Muir, Julianna Mendedhall, Amy Bodoh, Karen Sorvillo, Heidi Stabell, Michelle Pearse, Cindy Deutscher, Gretchen Lord, Sue Russell, Traci Pulsifer, Lauri Carroll, Lisa Sutton, & Elizabeth McGovern

Memorial Day Speaker Needed - HELP WANTED
Each year McKelvie holds a Memorial Day Assembly where the students learn about the importance of Memorial Day.  If you or someone you know might be willing to speak to our students, please contact me.  The talk usually takes between 3-5 minutes and is a personal reflection on what Memorial Day means to them.

Teacher Workshop Day
Next Friday, May 26th is a Teacher Workshop Day.  As a result, there is NO SCHOOL for students that day.

Student Council Talent Show!
The talent show will be held on Wednesday, June 7th at 6:00 pm.  Doors will open at 5:45, and tickets for ice cream sundaes and root beer floats will be available for $3.00 each, to be served during intermission.  Bottled water will be available for $1.00.

From the Library
McKelvie Reads A Lot! This Lego creation was put together by various students that come to the McKelvie Library. This is just a friendly reminder to have your child(ren) check their Destiny Library account. Your child(ren) can do this easily to see what is checked out, when their library material(s) are due back, as well as what holds have been placed and their status. Just head to the MIS Library webpage, click on the tab "Library Online Catalog," have your child(ren) log in using their student ID number and password, and then have them click on the "My Info" option at the top of the page. This will give them the details they need regarding materials checked out or on hold.
