Today's kick off of our READ Project was AMAZING. I have the privilege of reading with twelve 5th grade students and they are awesome. In case you are not up to speed, we are reading Fish In a Tree by Lynda Mullaly Hunt. And - thanks to the Bedford Education Foundation (BEF), Ms. Hunt will be visiting McKelvie this year.

McKelvie School Pictures
Thursday was picture day and the kids looked terrific. There were ties, gel, collared shirts, and big smiles. It's always a nice reminder to see everyone all cleaned up! I hope that your child's picture comes out great. If not, retakes are scheduled for Monday, October 26th.
McKelvie & Chipolte - 10/7
Mark you calendars and plan to give your kitchen the night off! On Wednesday, October 7th, between 5:00 and 8:00, the Bedford Chipotle will be hosting a fundraiser to support the McKelvie Intermediate School, Move-A-Thon! Plan to eat great and support our school! Click here for more information.
McKelvie Directory Information
A school directory letter went home today. In years past these letters have been eaten by pack packs, washing machines, lunch boxes and various other animate or inanimate objects. If you do not see the form, please ask your child if they have it in their paperwork. It would be very much appreciated if you could make any corrections and/or changes to the data on this form and return as soon as possible. The directories from McKelvie will be the last opportunity for you to have a collection of addresses, emails, phone numbers, etc. for your son/daughter's classmates. The cost of this year's directory will be $8 for one or $15 for two. The order form is part of the letter which you should be receiving. Again, your prompt response will be appreciated as there is much work to be done getting this Directory ready for printing. Questions can be directed to Barbara Chagnon, email@example.com

Just a reminder to always pull ahead when picking up at the Canopy side of the building. Think of it like the toll booths on 93 after a holiday weekend. Everyone gets through, it just takes a few minutes. Prior to blocking the entrance, please:
A. Pull ahead
B. Park in the Visitor Parking
C. Pull around and park in the back of the building
Bedford Fire Department Open House
October is fire prevention month and the Bedford Fire Department will be having their annual Open House on Tuesday, October 6 from 5pm-8pm. Join the firefighters for a memorable night of fire truck rides, fire safety activities and information, food and drinks including Papa Ginos Pizza, and an exciting live fire demonstration. All activities are free and take place at the Bedford Safety Complex at 55 Constitution Dr.
It's that time a year again to help earn money for our school. There are several ways to do this. It's easy, just clip box tops or labels for education on participating products such as soup and goldfish bags and send them into your school. Other ways to earn money for our school are Hannafords Rewards and Target Rewards. At Hannaford, buy 4 participating products and you will get 3 reward dollars for the school. Take the reward certificate and drop it in the provided box with the school's name before you leave the store. At Target, you can link your credit or debit REDcard on the Target website for the school and every time you use them 1% is given back to the school. Questions can be directed to Stephanie Richard at firstname.lastname@example.org
